What a treat! Travelling to the home of the World’s largest seed – the Coco de Mer palm – in this UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Vallée de Mai ancient palm forest. Having worked with the Seychelles Islands Foundation (SIF), when I was employed by WWT Consulting, to develop a series of interpretive panels along the forest trails to showcase the unique plants and animals of this amazing prehistoric place, and develop some plans for improvements to visitor flow across the site and through the visitor centre, including designs for an interactive exhibition space, it was a great pleasure to design the visitor orientation leaflet for the site. The leaflet needed to provide an introduction to the site’s special features and serve as an orientation tool for visitors in four languages. It ties in with the graphic language used around the site and features the Seychelles Black Parrot as a cheeky character to engage people.
